The Wonder Woman movie has topped the box office charts and is probably the most epic thing to happen to the girl power movement since the Spice Girls.

In the movie we see Diana, our Wonder Woman, take on armies of German soldiers, a British spy, and even a God. (Don’t worry, there are no spoilers in this post). Gal Gadot, the woman who plays Diana, has become an inspiration to millions of girls for being Wonder Woman both on and off-screen. The depth of her character shows that women are truly multi-dimensional: smart, strong, and beautiful. Above all, the message is that true beauty and strength comes from your values and always striving to do the right thing.

While we’re not all out to save the world in Amazonian armor, we can each be WonderWoman every day in our own lives.

How to be your own Wonder Woman:

ONE // Have a Heart

One of Diana’s most endearing qualities in the movie is that she always puts people first. She feels a sense of duty to use her skills to help others. You, too, can put your skills to good use. Heroic acts are not just ones that take a lot of time and effort, and garner a lot of attention. Be an everyday hero by doing the things that people often overlook, like picking up litter or holding the door open for someone.

TWO // Pay It Forward

Diana is a descendent of Amazons, a beautiful warrior tribe. One of the benefits of being raised in this environment is that all of the women helped each other to be the best warrior. They knew that if it came down to it, they have to rely on each other to survive and thrive. The same is true today. Instead of using your inner warrior to tear down other women, us your strength to give them strength. Be kind to others, but especially to other women. Show the next generation of #girlbosses that we all get further a head if we cheer each other on.

THREE // Healthy Body and Mind

The Amazons trained every day for hours to be the strongest warriors. Leading a healthy lifestyle is just that-a lifestyle. Make daily decisions that will give your body the fuel and strength it needs. While a strong body is an amazing accomplishment, a strong mind is what really gets you through the tough times. Developing a warrior mentality takes daily training. Try to find little moments every day to be mindful and thankful. Focus on your goals and analyze how you approach challenges. By cultivating a positive mindset you can achieve anything.

FOUR // Focus

Very early on we see Diana sneaking out at night to train secretly. From a young age she had the goal of being the best warrior and nothing was going to stop her. From the “lean in” movement to the “everything, just not all at once” movement, we’ve heard advice about how woman should approach success. But the one thing all of these motivational movements have in common is focus: the ability to set a goal and follow the path single-mindedly until reaching it. You can be anyone you want to be, do anything you want to do. Fixate on that goal, and fight for it every day.

FIVE // Be Beautiful, Be You

This is not about how thin you are, how short your armor (or miniskirt) is, or how much makeup you wear to get that “no makeup, makeup look”. Real beauty radiates from the inside and we all have it-we just need to let it shine. Wonder Woman walks confidently everywhere she goes. Even if you’re having a rough day, put your head up and walk tall. Its amazing how the physical act of projecting confidence can make you feel a whole lot better.

You don’t have to be an Amazonian warrior princess to change the world and be the best version of you. By following these 5 easy steps every day you can be your own Wonder Woman.
