This week I was in Nashville and it truly felt like a homecoming.
I got to see my friends (who I’ve been really missing since I moved to Miami) and check out all of my favorite spots. A full post of my Nashville favorites is coming, but for now I wanted to share some things that have been on my radar this week.
ONE // Hipsters
Oh my gosh, I have missed hipsters since I moved to Miami! If you know me in real life you know that I have a love for man buns, double denim, and really good coffee…which is basically as hipster as I get. I went to get my fix first thing after landing at Three Brothers Coffee, where the java was delicious, the patrons friendly, and the baristas had the in on where all of the local bands were playing.
TWO // It Makes Ence
That play on words is not my own–the credit goes to Brooke Ence, one of my favorite Crossfitters who has a hilarious Youtube channel. She is down to earth, super fit, and always keeps it real. Her videos feature her day-to-day shenanigans where she is joined by her best friend Jeanna, gorgeous hubby Marston, and adorable labradoodle Riggs.
THREE // Jack Rogers Dupes
I’ve been obsessed with Jack Rogers sandals for years, but couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger for what was essentially expensive flip flops (although really pretty, fancy ones). When I ran across these Sam and Libby Sandals at Target I knew my wait was finally over.
FOUR // Southern Preppy
No trip to Nashville is complete without stepping into the Draper James store, Reese Witherspoon’s clothing flagship. If you take Witherspoon’s sunny and southern personality and turn it into an outfit, that’s basically what this store is. From the sweet tea they offer you when you walk in to the store’s signature monogram keychain that I (finally) scored on sale, Draper James really takes the cake for one of Nashville’s most charming boutiques. BONUS: you can now also get it at Nordstrom.
FIVE // A Balanced Athlete
James Hobart is pretty much the reason I started Crossfitting, and not for the reasons you might think. Not only is he an incredibly smart and skilled athlete, but he completely excels at life by putting his focus into the people and things that matter most. While that may no longer be competing, I love the way he talks about his journey and his future focus in this Brute Strength podcast.
