I recently signed up for Ipsy-a monthly beauty subscription service. For only $10 a month you get 4-5 beauty items based on a personalization quiz you take while signing up. Each Ipsy delivery arrives in a themed makeup bag that is waterproof and great for taking in your purse or leaving in your desk at work.
The Destination Chic glam bag arrived in a purple envelope-style makeup bag with different travel destination icons in white. Super cute! I love all the different styles of makeup bags I’ve received from Ipsy. PRO TIP: These bags are also great as part of a gift for a friend. Simply place more fragile items in the makeup bag with some packing peanuts to send a friend a sweet care package. Or create a fun beauty bag to get a girls trip started right.
I was really excited for this eyeshadow trio. I’ve heard of Pacifica before and saw the brand at my local Target. This all vegan and cruelty-free brand was really appealing to me because it is good for the environment and my skin. The three colors (Crush, Skinny Dip, and Lovely) looked so beautiful in the pot. While the colors felt very velvety to the touch when I swatched them, I wasn’t so impressed when I tried using them for one of my makeup looks.
I found that the colors did not have much of a color payoff. I had to use a lot of the copper color (Skinny Dip) to make it stand out at all on my eyelid. I attempted to blend the brown color (Lovely) but it would not blend, no matter what I did with my fluffy brush. And the sparkly beige color (Crush) didn’t even show up on my skin and was not shiny enough to be used in the inside corner of my eyes.

I love Smashbox Cosmetics and was really excited to use this mascara. It is a pretty good day-to-day mascara: doesn’t clump, is super black, and is not overly intense. I highly recommend it for a daytime look when you’re going for a “no-makeup makeup” look.

This blending brush features synthetic bristles (friendly to your skin and your animal friends) and a really nice handle. The bristles are just a little too long and densely packed to use as a blending brush in my opinion, but are really perfect for packing in pigment in the outer corner of your eye and through the crease.

This soothing skin cream contains Jasmine and Glycolic Acid, designed to soothe stressed out skin. One surprising ingredient is coffee extract, which I am assuming gives skin a refreshed, energized feeling. I’ve only swatched this on the back of my hand since I still need to finish some other skincare products before switching, but it does feel really nice and silky. This surprisingly light cream feels similar to heavier skin creams I have tried in the past, like La Mer. It soaks into skin quickly, leaving behind incredibly soft skin and a cooling sensation. I can’t decide if I love or hate the scent quite yet-it is floral and makes me think of the ocean, probably caused by the algae extract. The back of my hand has never elt more nourished.

OMG sheet masks! I absolutely love sheet masks, as you may remember from this post I did on them a while ago. The Destination Chic glam bag comes with three: Collogan, Brightening, and Propolis. There is nothing better than giving yourself a little pamper with a bubble bath and a sheet mask. Simply place the mask on your face, relax for 15-20 minutes, and enjoy the results. Unlike masks your hands will not get gooey during application and removing the mask is a cinch-you just peel it off your face and toss it away. There is Korean skincare inside, which is years ahead of skincare in the US.
