Courtney Kerr is one of the top fashion bloggers out there. I often look to her for inspiration on what to wear for specific events, or when my closet is feeling stale.
I first saw Courtney Kerr when she was on Most Eligible Dallas and admired the way her outfits always reflected her mood. People often talk about making a statement with their clothes but Courtney managed to do it in a way that was approachable and not out of the realm of what girls who don’t have reality shows would wear. Now I follow her blog, What Courtney Wore, and really enjoy her edgy take on trends as well as the way she mixes high end items with more reasonably-priced ones.
Here are a few of my favorite Courtney Kerr looks (I’ve included some links of affordable pieces that are similar, in both general and plus sizes):

This is a classic and easy outfit, perfect for a day out running errands or going to brunch. Leopard is one of my favorite neutrals and adding leopard print shoes is a great way to make a basic outfit a little more interesting.

Even though this outfit is based around jeans I find it to be really elegant. This is a perfect look for the office on casual Friday. Throw on a blazer and you can extend this chic look into the colder months.

This outfit is just perfection! Its also a perfect example of the hi/lo that Courtney is famous for, dressing up a more casual chambray shirt with a skirt in a more luxurious material and an elegant topknot. I would wear this to fashion week in Nashville or even to date night with a guy I really like.

The Canadian Tuxedo…until last weekend I never thought I would ever wear denim on denim. I had previously deemed it too hipster for my taste (even after it was no longer an outright fashion faux pas). In this look Courtney shows us that it can be incredibly stylish, if done right. The trick is to keep it simple and have your denims be two very different shades.
Pretty much all of the similar pieces I have listed are under $50, so there is no need to break the bank.
