My first Nashville apartment was a 700 square foot Midtown rental shared with my then-boyfriend. When that relationship ended I needed space–both emotional and for my shoes. I happened to really luck out when my friends were looking to rent their spacious townhouse. I was thrilled: I had a great new apartment (with plenty of room for all of my shoes) and I get to have wine with friends every month when I go to pay the rent check.

My favorite spaces in my apartment are my room and my loft–they are my sanctuary. It took me almost a year and a half to get these spaces decorated in a way that I felt was just ME.

I love my bed!

My bed is probably my favorite piece in my whole room. I had a whole section on my Pinterest featuring things I love for the home and one of those things is a tufted headboard. I think mine looks totally glam-and I got it at Walmart of all places! My duvet cover was such a find from TJ Maxx, and the beige pillows are from Z Gallery.

A print from a dear friend

This photo is a print of a painting my friend from grad school made. She knew I loved it and presented me with the print as a going away present when I moved to Nashville. I adore infusing stylish elements with personal pieces that have a lot of personality, like this butterfly wooden mirror with the dream catchers. The mirror was a gift from my little (who wood-burned it by hand!) and the dream catchers are from my mom and one of my best friends.

Hello everyone!

I really love Japanese art and I found these great Gustav Klimt prints on The little red paper pagoda is a gift from one of my best friends who visited Japan last year.

I love how the colors in the print are picked up by the dresser and accessories to tie everything together.

One of the biggest bonuses in my apartment is my loft. It is right outside my bedroom and is a great place to hang out with friends or just unwind after a long day with a glass of wine and a good book. Thankfully, I was able to buy a lot of my furniture, including that couch, from the previous tenant (who was a friend of a friend), so I got a great deal. The little wicker coffee table was my first ever vintage find, and goes great with the overall color scheme.

My Meowchi plush on the couch–can’t resist a little kawaii touch.

Photos of friends and family, as well as a painting I made during one of my creative moments.

I really adore my place and look forward to coming home every night. I really lucked out when I found this place, because I already knew the neighborhood I wanted to be in and had good friends who helped me find the perfect home for me. If you are not sure where to start it can be a little overwhelming for sure! I wish Nashville had a site like Compass, a real estate platform that helps New Yorkers find their dream home based on the neighborhood they want to live in.
